Doug Holder interviews Brian Harkins--Revere Arts Activist

Nyx Breen is the artistic pseudonym of Brian Harkins, a prominent photographer, digital artist, and arts advocate based in Revere, Massachusetts. He is widely recognized for his visual storytelling, community-driven public art installations, and digital creations in virtual environments.

Creative Profile & Work

Photography & Visual Art: His photography frequently highlights local coastal landscapes, abstract urban architecture, and moody black-and-white imagery. He publishes his professional work on the official 4, 5]
Immersive Virtual Worlds: Breen is highly active in the OpenSimulator (OpenSim) community, particularly within the Pangea Grid. He constructs complex, large-scale virtual art installations utilizing advanced atmospheric lighting and mesh design.
Community Leadership: Deeply involved in the local Massachusetts art scene, he founded the Revere Art Community and co-founded the Revere Public Arts Commission. He has also served as a Massachusetts Transformative Development Initiative (TDI) Adjunct Fellow.
